Food Access Resources in Central Oregon

As of late 2025, federal funding for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) has been reduced nationwide. Many Oregonians who once relied on SNAP to cover part of their monthly grocery costs are now facing new uncertainty — fewer benefits, longer processing times, or the complete loss of eligibility.

These cuts come at a time when the cost of food, housing, and everyday essentials continues to rise. For families who were already stretching every dollar, that means some impossible choices: groceries or gas, therapy or meals, medication or rent.

At Wilder Wellness, we know that food insecurity isn’t just about hunger — it’s about stress, shame, and survival. The emotional weight of wondering how to keep yourself or your family nourished can increase anxiety, depression, and eating disorder behaviors.

That’s why we created this list: to help Oregonians connect to low-barrier, community-run food programs where dignity, respect, and nourishment are the focus — not paperwork or proof of benefits.

Caring for Body and Mind

When we’re underfed, our nervous systems shift into survival mode. It’s harder to rest, focus, or engage in therapy when basic needs aren’t met. At Wilder Wellness, we see food security as a mental-health issue — one rooted in compassion, not personal failure.

If you or someone you care about is struggling to access food, please know: there is support, and you don’t need proof of benefits to be worthy of help.

We hope this guide helps you or a loved one find nourishment, connection, and care.
