Kristen Ales, MA, LPC Supervisor
Hi, I’m Kristen — Founder and Clinical Director of Wilder Wellness. I’m a licensed therapist, supervisor, speaker, and retreat leader who specializes in disordered eating and body image healing. For over a decade, I’ve dedicated my work to helping people rebuild trust with their bodies, their food, and themselves — both in the therapy room and out on the trail.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University. My approach is deeply informed by my own recovery from an eating disorder and years of guiding others through experiences that blend therapy, nature, movement, and connection. I believe healing happens when we stop trying to fix our bodies and start learning how to listen to them.
As the Founder and Clinical Director of Wilder Wellness, I lead a team of compassionate, size-inclusive clinicians and provide clinical supervision and mentorship to therapists specializing in eating disorders and body image. I’m passionate about supporting both clients and clinicians in doing this work in a grounded, sustainable, and human way.
Beyond therapy, I’ve spent the last 10 years designing and leading therapeutic retreats and outdoor experiences that invite people back into relationship with their bodies through adventure, curiosity, and self-compassion. I also speak publicly and guest on podcasts about eating disorder recovery, intuitive eating, embodiment, and building trust with the body in a culture that constantly tells us we’re not enough.
While I’m currently full for individual therapy, I’d love to help you connect with one of the incredible therapists at Wilder Wellness or add you to the waitlist.
