Elise Miller, MA, LPCA

Elise began her career in the field of nutrition with more than 8 years of experience working as a health coach in the health and fitness industry. Through this experience, she discovered her niche in providing specialized support to clients struggling with symptoms of disordered eating.

Today, she combines her knowledge of physical wellbeing with education and training in mental health counseling to provide an integrative approach to therapy. She is currently most excited about supporting clients in healing from eating disorders, as well as those looking to optimize athletic performance through holistic practices and perspectives.

As a systemically trained therapist, Elise encourages clients to explore the web of relationships within which they exist. This includes the relationship with self, others, and most importantly, the relationship they maintain with their body. For those struggling with eating disorders and suboptimal athletic performance, the relationship between mind and body is often lost or clouded by external cues.

The main focus of her clinical practice is helping clients reconnect to the body through the use of:

  • Mindfulness-based techniques

  • Somatic exercises & nervous system regulation

  • Emotional awareness & expression

  • Intuitive eating

  • Self-compassion practices

Elise works with clients to cultivate a healthy relationship with the body, learning how to listen to its cues and respond in a way that it can understand. Whether it's tuning in and honoring the body's primal signal for hunger or up/down-regulating the nervous system for peak performance, through this work, clients learn to compassionately communicate with their bodies and, in turn, the world around them.

As a lifelong athlete, she spends as much time as possible outdoors, where she loves hiking, running, and skiing with her pup, Lenny!
